This may be common knowledge to many - however, can anyone enlighten me as to the torque setting for the lug nuts/studs for 40/45/55 etc stock steel rims or rather any steel rim application on an early cruiser. Is not listed in the faq section and my socalled searches have left me without results. Any assistance would be appreciated.:D

95 should be good. What I go with.

You are correct: it is not in the specs. I think above 75 you are good. You have to be able to get them off if you have a flat.

My owners manual for my '79 BJ40 says to use 66 - 86 ft-lb.

Indeed, 80 sounds like a happy medium -many thanks for all the replies -much obliged.:D
