1. How do I tell if my 85 is a early 85 or late production model?

2. What month did the late 85 begin production?

3. What differences are there between the early and late production models?

Check above left door striker. Should give you some info. My 85 states Oct. 85! Research your VIN number through existing threads posted.

5/85 is the change.

2 main differences are the steering box bolt pattern and the spacer on the trans which also goes along with the later trans crossmember. the later crossmember bolts to flanges on both sides of each frame rail.
