e-brake cable: v8 + auto trans (1 Viewer)

Searched several boards without success on this. You can call me stupid if you have a good answer....

Packaged a 5.3L V8 with an auto trans in my '75 FJ40 (lever on the IP, not the floor). I'm at the point where I'm putting things back together. Need a longer parking brake cable. Is there another year / other vehicle where I can get my hands on something that will work (without modification)?

this has been hashed out before. there is an earlier factory FJ40 cable that will work for you if you cut off the mounting plate. I have done this a few times and it works perfect every time.

As for the part number, I dont remeber and dont feel like searching myself, so get busy searching.

Have purchased a longer parking brake cable from BTB.


Make sure that you know how long your old one was, and how much longer you need the new one to be, no matter where you go to get one.
