My son & I are putting together the Costal Off-road Sliders for my 01 LX470.

My question is what is the ideal placement of the sliders? On these 2 mock-up pictures the inner part of the rail is just outside of the pinchweld, and about 1/2” below.

Is this too far out? Should the rear “hoop” be inline with the rear wheel?

Looking for experienced comments for both function and looks.

As it looks right now, you have them pulled out too far, al;most like they are steps. It's hard to tell from your pics but you want them tucked in more like the first one for sure. I'd save even more than that from what I see. I'm surprised these are adjustable in / out.

In the past I have lined the rear kick out on the rear just beyond my rear fender. It will push the tail end out if against a stump for example, clearing the tire and fender. The front lines up with just a few inches sticking out as its for rocker protection and a small step.

Running up against a similar question. How's this look?

rear bump out should be approx. 1" (1 1/2" max) out farther than the rear tire so it can bump you around obstacles.... imo
