DVD problems front and back (1 Viewer)

2004 with factory rear seat entertainment pkg.
First problem, tried to play a DVD in the front seat while stopped in park and it would not work, I could hear but not see it? I know thats what it should do if you are driving but I was stopped in park?

Second problem, rear dvd will not let me insert a disc anymore. A few weeks back I heard it cycle over and over again like it was trying to spit one out but now it will not work at all?


Has anyone removed the rear dvd player in the oem system? I am thinking about replacing mine with a media player/harddrive operated by remote so I can load up a bunch of movies/shows for long rides.

try applying the Parking / emergency brake for the front DVD....
not sure what to say about the rear.
Perhaps a portable unit can output to the screen

emergency brake is required, never thought of tha?. Too bad mine does not work as it must have froze up due to lack of use.

i suggest doing the front DVD bypass. It took me 15 minutes and now the passenger can watch DVDs while i drive. Check 100 FQs
