If I was a dual American/Australian citizen living in USA would it have any impact on my ability to import a cruiser from Oz. for personal use and or sale?

In Australia there's a law that states you can import a car if you've owned/driven it overseas for 12 continuous months. It's called a sentimental import or something similar. This is pretty much the only way you can import virtually any vehicle regardless of safety standards and age and still register it. From what I understand the US laws are way more lax than ours, perhaps there's a similar law over there?

No. If that was the case, I would have used my CDN dual citizenship to bring in something kewl from north of the border long ago:meh:

Aside from diplomat cars, if it aint 25 y/o or FMVSS, it doesn't exist. And even the diplomat cars are only good for a certain period of time IIRC.

Way to touchy feely for our DOT/EPA:grinpimp:

I am getting a mixed message here!
