I have an fj40 land cruiser direct import from japan.
I changed all the springs in the drum brakes to the left spring behind the shoes and the right in front, like it shows in the manual.
A mechanic told me that both the springs should be behind the shoes.

Which way is right on a Japanese land cruiser and why?
Thanks

What year? Do you have the shoe retaining pins in the center of each shoe?
