I've never drove a 60 without a turbo, but my old 40 was na, and that was one of my concerns when looking for a 60. i found one with a turbo and snapped it up right away.

Nice work Browndog! I now fully understand why a turbo is the first mod that ought to be done on a 3B. Very nice conversion, smooth ride... the new owner got a great deal.

To clarify...that is not a 3B with turbo. It is a 13BT, with is factory direct injected and turbo.

I've got a 13BT in my BJ60 as well. Pulls it along nicely!

True... but I would expect simmilar performance... right? The AXT site shows their turbo on a 3B outperforming the 13BT...

Ya ya...

I like the 3B, always have, and always been consistant in my praise. Even for a 3B-T. No question.

This opens the same old arguement...take a 13BT the same percentage off stock that putting a turbo on a 3B does...now that is apples to apples.

The 13BT pulls even all the way from the bottom. It feels like the DI engines have more snap on the bottom end, and when the boost kicks in there does not seem to be a power surge. It's simply a continuation of the power. Whereas the 3B feels just like a 3B till the turbo kicks in, then you can feel the power come on. While the 3B can be hopped up quite a bit (there are 3B's with intercoolers, and running highish boost at 15+lbs) the DI design of the 13BT would allow greater gains imo (no precups to push all the air through). So, while they are in essence the same block, and come from the same family there are differences. Do I like them both...yes!
