DRL won’t power Amber LEDs (1 Viewer)

I just installed a dissent front bumper and tried to get the amber LED lights to come on with the daytime running lights (DRL) and they won’t work. I have them connected to the DRL positive lead and when I remove the headlight, the ambers work just fine. When the bulb is plugged back in, the ambers go out. I checked the voltage and it drops from 12 volts without the bulb to only 6 volts with the bulb. Any idea why the voltage would drop just by plugging in a bulb? Is there something happening with the amps? Has anybody else tried to use a 6 volt relay to power their Amber lights? Would that work?

the short of it-
there is a thread for that.
there's a harness for that.
Or, change the wiring of the DRL to run in parallel.
Or run them off the fog light wiring, the panel fuse, or make your own switch.
Just a fuse, a relay isn't needed unless those really need more than an amp or two. I never checked or read about the ones he uses.
