Need some help on my driveline angles. Have some vibration driving 50+ MPH, here is my driveline angles below. I have lifted shackles. I have read that you want to keep the two angles as close to each other as possible.

What's up with the U bolts?

Trollhole said:Your diveshaft is way to short. And your yoke is probably worn.
can you grab the driveshaft in the middle and move it back and forth any?Good point. Everything I said before is assuming the slip joint is not contributing to the vibs.

It has had the vibration since I bought it in Jan, PO had all of the driveshafts balanced and checked. (Got a reciept even) From the looks of the reciepts he had been chasing the vibration problem for a long time. New clutch, transmission, xfer case, rear diff, driveshafts checked and 2 tune ups in one year. All of the dates on the reciepts mentioned before start, yea you guessed it, six months after the reciept for 2 1/2" lift springs and 1 1/2" lift shackles. Poor guy.
I replaced the harmonic balancer, the rear transfer case crossmember mounts and a couple of shims (front and back) and vibrations are gone, (Well, its a cruiser, "50 miles feels like 200 in a landcruiser". or "Its a 'land'cruiser not a 'road'cruiser... )
I'll have to check out the driveshaft next, I was planning on doing that when I do the SOA...Sigh, some day.

Trollhole said:Well there you are. WHen add new springs he didn't lengthen the driveshaft. or he didn't move the perches forward on the spring pack. It probably took 6 months of driving with the driveshaft like that to wear the yoke.
