I had an awesome time with this truck at the 2022 Lone Star Land Cruiser Roundup. However, I recently realized there's a possibility that I might have too many Land Cruiser projects.
Patina dune beige 1972 FJ40 with a 1970's date code carbureted Chevy 350, TH400 auto trans and a lokar shifter. OEM transfer case. Runs great and drives like a lifted 40. New quiet exhaust system (replaced the long-tube headers and very metal but very loud 12" mufflers) with a cat so you won't smell like exhaust. 4" lift with caster correction wedges; steering centers like it should. New-ish HFS shocks and steering stabilizer. Newer appearing 33" Toyo M/T's on OEM Toyota wheels with OEM hub caps, including spare. Front disk brake conversion. Excellent braking. LED headlights, taillights and aux lights. All work great. Custom heavy duty steel front and rear bumpers. Tow receivers front and rear. 12,000lb winch works great. Locking center console. Passenger running board mounted high-lift jack. Spare tire swing-out with a cooler tray and jerry can mount. Bestop soft top, disassembled hard top and bikini top. 766 mile odometer reading on the new gauge cluster is probably not correct, but hey you never know. Original jump seats; unknown brand aftermarket front seats with covers.
Rusty spot in the passenger side rear sill as pictured. Some filler evident in the passenger rear quarter. Engine and trans both need new seals; both drip. Electric fans need a surround to keep up with 100 degree Texas summer days, but it ran all day without temp issues in 70's and 80's at the roundup.Comes with new uninstalled door seals. Could use new side window trim. The side windows don't work very well. I've refurbished both doors and door glass runs. They're tip-top. Heater is not installed.
