Door lock help please!

First photo: locked position….key pulls out!
Second photo: unlocked position…..key won’t pull out?

The locking mechanism only moves a 1/4 turn with the key and key is stuck.

Is there an adjustment on the key and tumbler I’m not aware of?

Curious, take the nut off and see if key comes out in unlocked position ? Also. something looks off, the pivot for keyway shield should be at 12 oclock ?
Are those OEM cylinders ?

I got them from Vintage Tech Parts

That is curious about the 12 o’clock position. I’ll check it out

The key shield for my lift door is also at the 1 to 2 o’clock position. I installed both cylinders in the only position they would go….in the slots. I’ll need to do some research.

My OEM key covers original to the truck are at your same location, 2 at front & 3 for the rear lift glass so you're good there. Let's ping @ToyotaMatt and see if he can offer insight for ya.

My lift glass only locks/unlocks with full turn of key then upright=key removes.
Front door unlocks with 1/4 turn Left then back upright= key removes
Right turn 1/4=locks, then upright key=removes.

Okay, I found my OEM lock.
It also has the cover at 1 o’clock position.

That was a good catch and thought!

I’ll definitely ask Matt, he’s been a great source for parts and information. I glad to know that 1/4 turns allows you to remove key. I’m sure I’m doing something wrong

Hi Matt,

With the new locks I can’t 1/4 turn my key and go back to original position to remove key.

My Key only comes out/or in….in the locked position.

Figured it out!!!
I had two right door locking levers. Apparently they are side specific. Luckily I had an old left door lever in stock.

Lock works great!!!

See. All we needed was Matt to put his mojo on it!!!
