So at some point in my cruisers life someone attempted to break into it. The drivers side door lock cylinder looks like its 1/4 turned. There is some obvious damage there, and my key only goes about half way in. Also, the door handle does not work from the inside. I am assuming these are related issues. I have not taken the door panel off to inspect the damage yet. My question is should I remove the cylinder and take it to a locksmith for repair? If not, can any cylinder be re-keyed for my vehicle?

Best bet is to remove your door panel and take a look.

just making sure because the BJJCruiser thing

Your lock cylinder is inside your outside pull door handle correct ?

yes , best bet is remove the door panel & look for broken clips or a bent rod

but , Yes any lock cylinder correct for your 2004 LX can be Re-Coded if need be

Ok guys, I will remove the door panel sometime soon and report what I find out. I am most concerned about the visible damage to the lock cylinder but hearing that a new one can be re-keyed to match my cruiser sounds good.
