Cru
I'm having the SAME struggle. $40-45k budget. 2020-2021 4Runner Limited with next to no miles......or a 2013-2014 LC with 100,000ish miles.

What to do, what to do!!!!! The brain says 4Runner, but the heart REALLY wants a 200!!!
Cruiser, hands down all day long. Not even a chance at second guessing that one for me.

I have a 2007 4Runner Limited and a 2009 LC. Every time I get in the 4R to commute to work after driving the LC all weekend, I feel like I’m riding around in a little RC car. It just feels like a toy compared to the Cruiser. From the power to the feel and finishes of surfaces, it’s just better in every way. Even has 200k miles and I wouldn’t know the difference if it had 10 miles on it.

That being said, the Runner is a great truck. I’ve got 280k on it and it’s never let me down. Just don’t expect to drive a Cruiser and then be ok in a 4Runner!

Yes, I tried the credit union I have my 4Runner & LX470 loan thru. They are the ones who originally told me they revised their loan terms to 48 months for any 2016 vehicles and below. I've talked to a few dealerships as well, and they told me none of their banks will go higher than a 48 month loan. They said the only ones who would possibly finance a 60 or 72 month loan on a 200 series with over 100,000 miles is Toyota, but your credit needs to be excellent. I even tried Capitol One, they will finance, but they want a hugh down payment. They told me the reason for the big down payment is b/c the dealership pricing is actually higher than the actual blue book value of the actual vehicle I'm looking at.
On the off chance you are a member, USAA may offer auto financing for vehicles that old. Haven't checked in several months though, so COVID could have changed something. The cutoff for long loans may be '14 if they are still doing them.

I recently got a loan from USAA for a 186k mile 2009 LC. They’ll do it.

Thanks, I'm glad you brought them up. I am a veteran, and used to be a member. I'll hit them up and see what they say.

Good deal, I'm going to check them out here in a bit. Did you have to jump thru alot of red tape, or was it a pretty smooth process?
It was very smooth. Just went online and went through the normal process of applying and got approved right there. I don’t know if it matters as far as their decision making process, but we put $8,000 down on a $28,000 purchase price. But no hiccups at all.

I just checked, and apparently they still have me as an active member since 1999🤷‍♂️ I'll go with it lol.
