Some may find the auto high beams to be silly but I absolutely love the feature and I don't want to live without it ever again lol.

Does this "Auto" on the lever here means the high beam is auto when pushed forward or does it mean that the head lights will automatically turn on/off when it's dark/light?

Yes, that.

Keep the stalk on "auto" and push it forward. The LX will turn on high beams when it deems it appropriate, and will similarly turn them off when it detects an appropriate amount of oncoming light.

My '14 LX has automatic high beams. I'm not a fan of the feature; it reacts far too slow (to oncoming traffic) for my liking.

I guess that's why I did not see it work because it reacts too slow and I'm way faster.
