Does anyone know a good Cruiser mechanic in the Reno/Tahoe area?

I recently moved to the area and need to find someone I can trust with my 97 fzj80. Anyone?

The only person you can trust with your baby is YOU :D

What is the problem that you need a mechanic for? We might be able to help you through it.

My 80 is running fine, I just want to be prepared. If something comes up I want to know where I'm going to get it towed if necessary. Trying this post from the side of the road doesn't appeal me. Neither does taking it to a complete random mechanic or (cringe) a dealer. If I had tools, time and a place to work on it then I would consider doing my own work. Since I have none of the above I need a mechanic. I realize this is a tech forum, I found all kinds of cool mods here that I had my old mechanic do. I truly appreciate everyones help and I'm looking into the mechanics mentioned so far. I saw a few in Grass Valley which isn't too far from Truckee.

Like Spresso posted in the link, quite a few of us use Sunshine Auto. Especially for alignments. One day, three of us ended up there; two 100 series and a 4Runner. It was pretty comical as nobody knew the other would be there.

I've used home since '96, he was the only guy in town that could align my Cummins.

You're looking at about a 45 minute drive to come down here. But there are at least 2 shops i know of. One of them always has at least 1 LC in front of it.

Do those two shops have a name? I don't mind the drive, I wasn't expecting to find one near the lake.

Hello Fullmode, I live in Reno and just picked up my first LC, also a '97. Did you ever find a good mechanic??? Thanks.

Could you guys let me know if you found a good mechanic in Reno? Just found a 92 LC and I need to get a couple things taken care of. Thanks!

Oh damn, that's a hell of a project. Lots of good shops in town, lots of bad shops. Don't know many Toyota specific though.
