Both Tundras here have full 2" suspension front and rear with full leaf packs. The silver one is running the heavier packs as it was getting a Four Wheel Camper added to it soon after the install.

Thanks for breaking it all down! I'm looking to buy shocks and struts later this year for my 2nd gen tundra. I was looking into ome, since I used them on my first gen tundra.

How do doinsons compare to ome? I'm pretty sure I saw positive reviews coming from guys using them on their fj60's.

Our twin tube struts and shocks are pretty much always valved on the softer/comfort side of things, whereas the Nitro Sport from OME tend to be firmer. So with theirs you're more likely to feel more bumps and cracks in the road with the firmer valving, whereas the Dobinsons will soak those up better for a nice ride.

Last I checked, ours are much less expensive too than OME.

Just updated the first post, adding in all of the IMS options for the 1st Gen Tundras, and also adding in some other coil options for the 2nd Gens.

Any idea if the MRR 3-ways might be in the works for the 1st gen tundra/sequioa front struts? It’s such a tease to have them available for the rear but not the front…

No, there are no plans for the fronts.

Hey @crikeymike - have you had anybody have issues with the energy suspension "new upper coil isolators" on the 1st Gen Tundra (2000-2006)? Or maybe you haven't sold many of kits for the 1st Gen....?

You may want to reconsider using those energy poly isolators...

I ordered IMS setup from Dobinsons Direct and had been fighting issues with that same new black energy isolator squishing out over the top of the spring. Had it happen twice: first time before I even installed them on the truck (chalked it up perhaps being incorrect assembly by a local shop), second time after 10 mins of driving around my neighborhood (after I sent them back and had Dobinsons assemble them.)

Searched around a bit on FB and amazon reviews and found a handful of folks having this issue.

I reached out to Dobinsons again after the second time and they told me they'd never heard of this happeneing before, *but*, they'd now switched to a different *rubber* isolator.

The folks I saw on FB having issues were switching to the the rubber KYB isolators.

I've had mine switched out for the KYB rubber isolators now for a week and have not seen an issue (ran the truck on a 600 mile roundtrip and it even saw some bumpy offroad dirt during that time.)

You will definitely want to reconsider using the energy poly isolators for the 1st Gen Tundras. I would highly suggest using the KYB rubber isolators.

For reference, my setup is:
2006 Tundra DoubleCab 4x4
Front hidden winch
IMS59-50222 Front Shock
C59-302 coil
IMS59-50940 Rear shock
Wheelers 3-leaf AAL

The KYB rubber isolators seem to be holding up nicely. I'm guessing there haven't been many 1st Gen folks /actually/ running this stuff yet.

And looky there.... Dobinsons now recommends using the KYB rubber isolators with the 1st Gen Tundra setups.

No, I've never heard of that issue. The poly ones shouldn't be squishing out like that

Just added the MRA rear shocks for the 2nd Gen Tundra to the 1st post. They came into stock about 2 months ago. Still waiting on the front MRA's to come out of production and ship over. (No ETA)

Hey Mike, are there any plans to offer lower front lift options for 2nd gen Tundra? A lot of folks like to stay at/under 2" up front to retain stock UCAs and milder CV angles. Thanks

You can use the Sequoia 1.75" coils to achieve that same lift on a Tundra.

There aren't any plans to make any other coils for it otherwise
