You also wouldn't have to remove the jerry can to siphon it into your fuel tank from this side. Not that it would be hard just to pour it down the tank either.

My Slee rear bumper had the tire centered, which I preferred for weight balance, and it swung out to the right (passenger side). I never thought too much about it then, but if that thing was swung out into the traffic, that wouldn't be fun if someone hit it. Of course it had to swing completely out to clear the tail gate, so it was pretty much 100% off the side of the vehicle at that point when fully open. This would be too.

I can special order a 2nd tire carrier for the LH side if people are interested too.

I think the spare tire on that side makes sense. Id rather have the jerry cans next to the filler personally so I can just siphon the gas into the tank rather than making a mess trying to pour from the Jerry can. I can still see out the back. Blindspot? These cruisers are like friggin fishtanks. What blindspot. I have a slee bumper with two swing outs and it opens in the same direction. I don't hear complaints. I really don't see what the big deal is as to which side the carrier swings out to.

3mm steel through most of it, then 4mm and 5mm on some of the brackets and/or doubled up.

Someone else mentioned that recently. I haven't seen the ones he is selling personally, but he's also not far from here. I'll have to go up there some day.

Based on his prices though, I don't believe they're the same.

I was joking. I live in the country, no curbs around here. Can I disagree with your jeep analogy? Almost all are smack in the middle. Where I live you are only required to have two mirrors. One has to be the drivers, the other can be either the passenger or rear view. Either way having a spare on the passenger creates a blind spot. I bet in California if you ran over a kid because you didn't see him In that blind spot, it's could be argued that your non factory bumper with spare caused said death and you'd be taken to the cleaners.

edit, forget the cali remark. It could happen anywhere.

My slee has the tire on the passenger side; no idea why this is a problem. The weight of the spare tire, compared to tools / water / gear seems negligible.

My slee rear, just to contrast. $2,505 + shipping. It's a beast piece of gear. Antenna mounts, hilift mount, 2" receiver mount (not installed), and just a ton of attention to detail throughout. It certainly looks better than what's been shown in hear, but whether or not that "better" is worth $1,600 is your bank account's call.

You're missing my point, or perhaps I wasn't clear about it. I am not suggesting the bumper was ever 'designed' to achieve the two things I mentioned. I am saying it 'does' in its present form. Advantages....as I see it.

Actually I prefer center mounted tires. As for creating a 'blind spot' it is negligible. If you look at most rigs, by the time folks are finished adding jerry cans, ladders, hi-lift jacks, etc.... you can't see very well behind your rig anyway. Using the side mirrors and glancing over your shoulder out the rear quarter windows is where your trouble would be, not directly behind you.

Hows that? I think the spare should be on the passenger side for US trucks. Offset constant weight of driver. That's how my own bumper is built and probably the majority of aftermarket ones in the US. Might be wrong side for you but not for the entire market.

Personally I like it on the right side, it off sets the weight of a full gas tank and the driver (like others have said.) I agree it is a bit of a blind spot but personally I wouldnt call something that minor a "deal breaker."

Might it come without the Jerry can holder? If so, how much less?

I know it looks corny but with the arms swung out when open in parking lots and such I dig it.

    Me so corny.

It will come with it, but it doesn't have to be installed. It's all in one package price.

I like the looks a lot. I will probably change my rear bumper before my front. How many can you fit on a pallet? ;)

Haha, 2-3 could go on one pallet. Wanna put together a group buy for them all going to the same place?
