I was wondering if I need to adjust my fuel delivery screw... truck is a 1987 bj73 - 3b - 31" tires, all stock... for example, to do 100 km/ hr my tach reads around 28-2900 rpm. Just seems like I'm really pushin it to cruise at highway speed. Is this typical? or do I need to adjust the fuel delivery screw? Or any other suggestions... Thanks

RPM is directly related to tire size and gearing. power is related to fuel mixture...

At 100kph my engine is doing less rpm than that ,probably around 2500 with 31.

Do you have any black smoke, how many klms on the engine?
Maybe your injectors and pump need looking at.
Being a 3B its not going to go much faster anyway.

I was running into a strong headwind last week in the wheatbelt of WA and my 1HZ was only just holding 110kph

Champjack what size tire do you run to come up with
that speed @3000 rpm?

So how would one know if the fuel setting is set properly? I'm not complaining about slow speeds or power in my truck, but just curious if things could be tweaked for the better...

I checked my ride out the other day.
On flat road balmy day no head wind.
3000 RPM gave me 110km/hr . Confirmed with the gps nav system in truck.
That is with brand new LT225/75R16's 29.4"dia.
