Not sure yet....may be just some lava rocks and call it a day....
Im using an air mixer (90k BTU's), but still get a lot of soot when it is on....
I also dont want to drill any holes on the sides (maybe that's the cause of all that soot), so actual burner will have to come up midway in the box, also will try a 40K BTUs air mixer instead, and drill 1/16" holes instead of 7/64".
Hopefully that will take care of the soot........we shall see.....

I used a .30 cal. can and used a round burner from a turkey frier for the flame. I did have to drill a few holes in the lower sides for proper
air flow, but it works great.
