another advantage of 24v ...

;)

Why? Unless you mean that you will always have a minimum of 2 batteries, but anyone who goes down the CSR track or any serious track in a 12V takes 2 batteries and preferably 2 other vehicles;)

I want to do this trail but it takes some preparation, money and is not for the faint hearted:D

Bush welding..

Like many, i had doubts about this. A guy in our club organised some leads, a handpeice or two, jumper leads a pile of scrap steel and about 15 batteries for one of our club meetings.

3 batteries in series 3.2mm electrode welded 12mm plate no worries. all positions too, if anything th weld was too hot. beautiful welding occured when the voltage dropped. Could probably weld solid for about 3-5 mins, and thats alot!

3 batts and a 2.5 rod, blew holes in 8mm plate, 2 batteries, 2.5mm rod beauty. more than enough to weld anything in the bush to get home. on big 4x4 runs some one always has leads, a handpeice, goggles and 2.5 RSP (weld anything) rods.

Try it. it is surprisingly good.
