Ben, @benc, at Dissent Off-Road has been working up a front bumper for our ‘97 LX450. We’ve been asking him for some time to consider making a set of bumpers for the 80 series and he has been kind enough to squeeze this design and build project into his schedule. Working with Ben’s professional and easy going nature has been a pleasure.

The modular design has 3 individual sections, which can be removed, repaired, or replaced. Ben’s design is strong and light, at about 90 pounds. Since we plan to mostly crawl the rocks of the Sierras, we chose steel, but aluminum was an available upgrade. Ben’s welds and design are impressive.

We’ll be loading this with a 12K ComeUp winch. The winch is covered from above protecting synthetic rope from UV damage, a needed feature since we lack shady parking.

Full bull bar, lights, and silver power coating to match the flares coming.

full bull bar $275
tube style bull bar $250
small stinger $125
large stinger $150
3x3 flush mount cut outs $50
Fits most 3x3 flush mount led lights

Should we expect a posting for the progress on the rear as well?

Yes, there will be updates on the front and rear bumpers. The front is done, except a couple details. Trimming the wings and powder coating. I’m upgrading the suspension to stage 4 Slinky with 37’s and need to move the front axles forward 30mm to help clear the firewall. The front and rear bumper wings will likely need some trimming to clear the tires and prevent limiting up travel. But we can’t install the complete suspension until the Slinky front coils are shipped from Australia. So we can’t determine how much to trim. We’re in a holding pattern until a Mill Creek Overland gets there shipment.

Nice sounds like you just promised more pictures in the future.

I think the slinky stuff is "on the water" from what I've heard. Not sure how long it will be before it arrives and gets through customs but hopefully not too long.

Any update on this bumper and the rear? Gotta make a decision here soon but can't wait too long. Hoping that some of these are in production

Same. Need a rear in the next few months and need to make a decision. Was really hoping to see a Dissent happen.
