I am doing a disk brake conversion on my 1968 FJ40 using parts I pulled from a 1987 FJ60.
Currently planning to use the FJ60 tie rod since it is larger but I will need to shorten it.
I am looking for a shop that can do the work or find a used or an off the shelf tie rod tube already shortened.
The threads seem to be 23mm OD with a 1.5mm thread pitch right & left hand.
Does anyone know of a shop in my area that can do the work or know where I could buy an already modified one?
And if anyone has done this mod already, what was your tie rod tube length after modification?

1968 front axle? are you sure it is a birfield axle? not ball and claw?

As "Living in the Past" said, I am building up a new fine spline front axle with a mid to late 70's axle tube.
I will check with the Copper State Cruisers club.

I will be interested in selling my course spline front and rear axles if anyone is interested in them.
