Sorry in advance if this has been discussed. Is anybody not running the backing plate when they convert to mini truck disc brakes on a 40? Are they even necessary? Pros and cons of not using the. UR .02 appreciated. Thanks Don

I'm not running the backing plate completely. But I did cut out the inner ring that bolts behind the spindle to keep the distance the same. And also cut off the part of it that the hard line mounts to, and mounted it behind caliper bolts. Tired of packing the backing plate with mud, and rocks. hope this helps.
