did you not know the ratings are for perfect conditions under controled enviroments?
in real life drop the value by at least 25%
cheers

yep, there are a few kicking around. there was one in BC a couple weeks back trying to get $12,900 with something like 100,000 on it...
i thought it was a bit on the high side, nice looking unit though...
cheers

if you could see up close that big mutt is standing on a stock 40 series running board... quite a feat in itself...

I just did a test run on mine and got 10.4/100Km (around 22.5 mpg). That is without correcting for the 31x10.50 tires.... so just a little bit better. 88 hj60. mostly stock

31"x10.5 tires. 88 hj60. 10.4/100km (around 22.5 mpg) with mostly city driving.

Hello,

With my BJ60 I typically got 9.5 to 10L per 100K.
9.5 driving miss daisy (100kph with light foot)
10L at 110kph with a heavy foot in hills.

That was running 31" BFG AT Tires.
That was also correcting for my speedo/odo being out.

Cheers,
Nick

the amazing this is the HDT can get 27.6 mpg at 90k/h...
that is better than any 13BT, 12HT, that I have driven...
note, i said THAT I HAVE DRIVEN. other reports might vary.
cheers

I have had as many as 900km's on a tank (20 gallons) but that was taking it easy and I was pretty dry when I filled up again.

w/235-75R15 : 25 US mpg - 9,5l/100km
w/32 : 20 US mpg - 12l/100km

In my BJ70 before turbo and runing 29"s with 3.7's, I got 8.8 L/100 kms on the highway or 26.5 mpg (US).

With the turbo, and runing 33"s and 4.11's (I go much faster now) I get about 11.25 l/100 kms or 21 mpg (US).

Looks like the B engines are the most fuel efficient of the big cruisers.
My 1HZ after 3-4 tanks of diesel is averaging 13-14 litres per 100klms or approx 21 mpg imp of stop start city driving with 5 sp 4.11 and 33s

This is a little conservative as I cant fill up at a bowser due to the old unleaded fuel restriction device on the tank inlet and I believe my odometer is giving me less klms than Im really doing.
The engine is also only 2000klms old so it still has some loosening up to do
Hopefully I will end up with getting 23-24 imp mpg in the city.

Maybe we should all do an accurate reading for all our diesels and put it up as a sticky for future and current diesel heads who want to know "How much fuel will my new diesel banger use?:D:idea:
This would need to include an accurate weight of your vehicle and other factors such as tyre size and transmission/diff ratios engine mods and city/highway cycle.

I get 67mpg on the highway once I get the grappling - hook onto the back of the logging truck I'm drafting....otherwise about 25mpg.

You got me on that one Moose:mad::D:rolleyes: I was about to pound out Bull@&@&@&@& on the keyboard in big letters:D

Calculations and charts and tables and guessing aside, the ONLY way to accurately measure your speedo and odometer is by using a GPS.

Drive at 100 kph on the GPS, and see what your speedo is saying. If it says 105 kph, you are 5% out. Therefore 60 kph indicated is actually 63 kph, and so forth. When you fuel up and look at your odometer, multiply (or divide) your distance on that tank by your percent out and voila...exact numbers.

Sorry if I seem like I'm dumbing this down, but when I hear
"well, I'm running bigger tires, so my mileage is a bit better that what is indicated" it bugs me.

Craig.
