Hi, so I now own an ‘84 FJ40 (from Brunei) and an ‘82 BJ42 (from France). The French car is being used as a donor vehicle.

I was just wondering what the ratios are on the front axle? I’m hoping they’re the same so I can swap them.

Cheers guys

VIN plaque on the firewall should have that information. 4.11 and 3.70 are the most commonly are what were installed at the factory. Diesel may be different than petrol.

I have euro spec 1981 BJ42, the plate says K082 = 4.11:1

hi,
2018001

pinion gear
for the FJ 40= 10 teeth

for BJ40 and BJ 42 = 9 teeth

for all same ring gear with 37 teeth

caution: used the same ratio on the front and rear axe
