Differential air breather (1 Viewer)

Whats up guys,

has anyone installed the arb or similar differential breather?

many suggestions please.

I installed their kit to ventilate the transfer case. Nice big non collapsing tubing. Fancy filter manifold. Very nice but kinda expensive

I’ve used the arb. It was easy. I would support Jason before I did arb again.

Cheaper ways to accomplish this. Appropriate size hose from the parts store, run it from the breather fitting on the axle housing into the engine bay, and cap with a cheap fuel filter.

Godwin is right, way cheaper and faster as a diy rig! I have my forward diff coming up to an inline filter located just above the brake and clutch reservoirs on the firewall, and the rear diff vent goes up the right rear pillar to behind the accommodation vent.

Not quite as easy but doable is to vent the t-case in the same way. It's best to swap out the vent nipple with a longer one. There's a Toyota part that will work but I don't know the number.

thirding godwin's plan. n if your scrounging/recycling skills are up to snuff, it can be done for next to nothing. my last set up cost me about $2oo. 2 hose clamps. the hose came from a demolition i did of an institutional kitchen. about 60' of 3/8'' food grade braided line. the ends were inline fuel filters out of my stock pile
