Some of the FJ40s have the expanded metal grille that extends all the way up. Others, like my 78, has the shorter grille that stops behind the front end panel and then much thinner, gnarly factory expanded metal attached to radiator brackets. Seems like a sloppy setup to me.
Would a full height model fit in a 78 ok? I was also thinking about just making my own from scratch (I'm sure a lot of folks do this).
Thoughts? DIY would be much less $$$. Or I could just attach some better look expanded metal on the radiator brackets than came with the factory.
