I recently had the pleasure of getting to drive in about 12 to 14 inches of snow. I thought it would be a perfect time to try out the locking differentials on my 96 cruiser. Each time I would try to lock only the rear the light would continue to blink and not engage. The rear would only lock (sometimes) after engaging the front and then moving the switch back to the (rear only) position. Could it be that they just need to be used more often or does it sound like their may be a problem? I appreciate the feedback.

Same thing happened to me this past weekend. I was stuck for three hours with nothing to winch on.

While the light is blinking, slowly pull forward and turn the wheel slightly to one side. Do this on a loose surface gravel, etc, of course. Doing this a few times seemed to revive mine as I don't believe the PO had every used them. This is not my fix by the way so THANKS to whoever's post I had read when I searched on the subject. :flipoff2:
