OP - you came to the right place. This site is like the Congressional Library of anything 80 related.

The golden ticket is to put whatever 80 related thing you want answers about in that little white oval bar in the top right corner marked 'search...'

Sadly when you post so general a term like you did all we can do is nod & agree while thinking "yep, dude wants to find his his locker wires"

More detail on your part = answers that may actually help you.

Rear because I didn't have a full exausht on at one point and drove a long trip and my rear diff lock came on so I'm assuming the wires melted because it was hot enough to burn through my tank
Burn through a tank? Huh?

Hi-Jack on, doesn't the plug below the cruise control servo have both front and rear control wires?

No, not unless you're using my special gizmo for air lockers. How did that work for you btw?

dude, you're going to drive over here and kill me. I still haven't installed it. I've been vacillating on what air source to use for the lockers and recently decided to use a Puma instead of the ARB I bought. So now I have to plumb the airlines and I'm thinking of doing the solenoid manifold off the PS fender around the connector area, but wanted to confirm there were both rear and front signals in that harness. Seems like you told me there was.

I'm sure that the lifetime warranty is still good? :)

On all the US spec gasser 80s I have worked on the harness goes down th floor from the drivers A pillar to the rear wheel well, then out and a bit forward and drops to the diff. Really does not get anywhere close to normal exhaust routing. John

How do I get the bulted wheel well covers

For your diff lock?

If your talking about the front locker harness on the PS front fender, NO it does not contain any wiring for the rear locker. John

Well, the wires for the front one are on the fender right behind the air cleaner

Need the wire colors I lost my harness that connects to the actuator (front diff) to the harness on the passenger side behind the air filter. And I need to make a short harness for that

Any help

Thanks for the above information. I have a related question. But I think I need to explain my LC first.

It’s a 2002 78 series (LHD) I picked up in Italy and had shipped to Canada. It originally had the 1HZ with factory rear / front lockers. The last owner is an experienced mechanic and put a 1HDT along with the 151F transmission from the donor 80 series. The current setup is it runs as a full time 4wd and the floor shifter is now just for 4H / 4L with the center locker switch as the add in.

I have a problem getting my rear / front lockers to engage. I checked the lockers themselves by unplugging them and engaging the lockers with a 12v source. They operate fine. I confirmed the contacts are in the proper position after engaging the lockers and confirming continuity on pins 4-5 and 4-6. I also checked continuity back to the switch.
The center locker works but was an add on with a factory switch. The stock 78 Series was part time 4wd. The owner says the center locker switch was wired to the 4wd light on the dash.

My only thought is that my lockers won’t engage because the center locker (while locking) is not sending the signal to the 4wd ECU to let the rear locker engage.

I checked and confirmed power to the dash light from the ECU plug and I can hear the center locker relay engaging and confirmed the lock of the center locker.

My question is, does anyone know what pin on the 4wd ECU is connected to the center locker’s position sensor so I can confirm continuity? If that connection is OK I suspect I need a new ECU.

Or maybe I have an ECU from the original 78 series ECU and need a 80 series specific version? Are they even different? The part number on my 4wd ECU is 89533-60150

Thanks in advance for any ideas / help.
