With engine out and being rebuilt as we speak, it was easier for me to find diff breathers. It will also be easier to extend them with the engine out.

The diff breathers have a little cap over them which has to come off, my question is: is there enough of a nipple under the cap to simply hose clamp some fuel line to it? Or does something have to be screwed into the original hole? ???

Any help would be great?

i got me a coil of that air hose from harbor freaight and cut in half, then also got me a 1/8" brass close nipple, i screwed that into the hole where the breather was, screwed the hose to that and ran it up, works great

Cheers mate, pictures and all!!

Question: Do you have any sort of filter on the end of the hose? I hear you can use a fuel filter?

yup fuel filters are good, i use the little cheap ones commonly at volkswagen shops, or the little motorcycle kind

You can slip a hose over the nipple left after removing the cap, but the one way valve is still there (not good) and there isn't a whole lot of room.
The threads in the axle are metric, but very very close to 1/8" NPT.
Read the writeup in Tech. It will work for your 55.
Stick any old fuel filter on the end of the hose.
