Hey dude .. Julio ( it's a english forum .. so I write once in english :) )

I'm not all familiar with Chile market options .. but seen in TA for years .. ( was born in 2003 if I remember well ) but there are usually using gassers and few B engines all around ..

Actually Guillermo in the south of Chile have one imported from Iquike ( thought ) 12H-T engine ..

If I really go with diesel engine .. I prefeer one that have plenty of local market spare parts .. and from there the other part of the drivetrain ..

Tapage,

No problem with writing in english (Thats why i wrote that last post in both spanish and english).

I expect not to see one of this in the near future: :ban:

About the Diesel Engines here, yes they are a lot more rare than gasoline ones. More expensive and difficult to get. And yes again, most of them come from Iquique.

Now an Update on the state of the Cummins/FJ40 idea:

The day before yesterday I went to the famous "10 de Julio" (A street in Santiago mostly dedicated to automobile spare parts. I say famous because Tapage probably has already listened about it) to buy the Glowplugs for my H.
In my way to it I had a little Transantiago (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transantiago#Problems_and_criticism), and after that I had to walk about 20 blocks to avoid a protest against that same system (My "not too much walking" plan of buses combinations was destroyed by the protesters ).

When I was almost arriving to "10 de Julio" I pass in front of a store labeled "Motores Japoneses y Koreanos" (Japanese and Korean Engines), obviously I went into the store and asked about 2H or 3B engines, and the guy don't even knew about the first. And about the last, he told me that he could get it if I want it, but he didn't recommend it because of their weak heads. I told him that I already knew about their heads, because I had one before this H.
He started talking about an Isuzu engine (The one from the NPR or NKR, I don't remember) The thing is that he finally give me a price for the Isuzu engine with its transmission...

CLP$1.500.000.- or USD$ 2,778.- (Todays currency conversion)

"OK. Thank you very much". And I leave the place. Then I went to buy the Glow Plugs at Dieselsa (A store specialized in Diesel spare parts. Actually, was there that I found the gasket set for my 3B when I needed it). I saw a Cummins sign in their decoration so I started asking if they have parts for the 4BT. They told me that they don't have any part for Cummins . And I replied: "So do you know where can I find parts for those engines?". They gave me some very usefull tips.

After another long walk, I arrived to a Cummins store in Alameda (The city main street) and Ejercito. Actually it was a kind of Agro Parts supplier (http://www.agropartschile.com/page2.html). I talked with a guy at the store, and I was informed that they have all the parts for the engine, at very reasonable prices :). I asked for gasket sets, rings, pistons, etc. They even had one of those 6 cilinder engines (not a 6BT, but one of the similars) there for sale (Very expensive), and it was as big and heavy as you all told me.

Conclusions: The day was really productive with the glowplugs in my hands (I will install them in the Cruiser as soon as I get to Viña), and all the information to get the spare parts for a 4BT.

Now I need to get clear about what Transmission should work with the Cummins 4BT (Ideally a transmission common in American cars) and the adaption kits to the engine.

Thank you all for reading this long and boring post.

The tranny I thought you have 2 options ..

NV4500 or AA for adapter from your Cummings engine ( Chevy bolt pathern I believe ) to your Toy tranny ..
