I was working under the dash of my 1983 FJ60 last night and noticed what really looks like a 120v outlet... I didn't plug anything in it, in case it's not an inverter (& end up frying something).

The pic is from under the dash, passenger side, just above the side kick panel. So the question of the day is: Could this be a factory power inverter?

It's for inspection lamp working on 12V not 120v. Check with your voltmeter.

That plug is for the 12 volt trouble type light that many 60's came with from the factory. The light used a bulb similar to a back-up light in a plastic cage.

You can buy reproductions and likely find an original in the wanted section here on Mud.
