Does anyone have or know where I can find Detailed Gearbox and transfer case specs relating to gear ratios and when they were manufactured and what countries they ended up in ?

I'm wanting to know the ratios for my H55F and transfer case in a 85 aus spec middy with a carby 3F and what other H55F/A440 transfercase ratios there are. I've found two low ratios 1.959, and 2.488 but not sure what cars had what and if i've already got the 2.488 ratio low range

cheers

the H55F was bolted to a 1.9 gear case
the auto was bolted to either 2.3 or 2.488

AFAIK the 2.48 came only behind the HJ60 auto and the 80 series...

as for a site you could try Under Construction . there are a few errors but very few...

It just that this site suggests otherwise, that that "early" and "late" H55F's had either a 1.9 or 2.488 low range. NOt sure what I've got and weather its worth me trying for 2.488.

cheers

That link didnt work for me? just a error site came up ?

According to this, all H55f after 86 had 2.296 low in the t/case. If yours is an 85 ,it maybe a 1.9.
TLC FAQ - 8.1 Transmission & transfer Case Ratios (All :1)

I wonder if the low ratio of 2.296 has the 38mm idler shaft and the 1.9 has the 34mm?

I was just reading about the idler shaft dia change on the marks website, on their site it says that the change was 10/84. I'm kinda hoping I can swap A440F low range of 2.488 into my transfer case. Alot cheap/easier than diff gears or marks gears.

cheers
