Here's my HU harness. Orange is spliced into green (dash harness).

I tugged on the splices but did not yet test if there is a connection. I'm starting to prefer solder&heat shrink over butt ends.

UPDATE:

For the Scion t1819 (PTR546-00120) head unit the Illum - wire (#5 in the 6-pin connector) should be connected to the White/Green wire in the stock LX450 harness.

When connected as above, if you turn on the headlights the buttons of the head unit illuminate and the display remains visible.

Will attach pics later.

A search brought up this topic.

It seems that my Australian 2002 LX470 has the same power 15-pin connector as the US 80-serie.
What did you guys do with the S GND wire?
My new head unit has a humming when on, even with the engine off and I think it is because this signal ground (pin # 12) isn't connected on the head unit side.

I ordered one of these and will try it out as my HU did not come with any cables. This would be nice if I didn't have to solder and such. Only $10 on E-Bay. Listed as: AUX USB Cable Adapter For 2012 Toyota Sequoia Tacoma Tundra Yaris RAV4 CD Player

Anyone find steering wheel controls that work with how to hook it up?
