In my only truly offroad breakdown: when the tie rod end fell apart on my FJ62 in the most remote part of Colorado, no one in the club I was with had what I needed - soft steel baling wire. An ATV passing by handed me a roll and left before I could thank him. I used the factory jack to press the TRE back together and put in 4 courses of baling wire around the TRE and completed the trip and drove home. I how have some in every vehicle and my ATV.
My 100 series starting running very poorly on the way to work recently with no warning, and having a OBD code reader onboard was very nice to learn that it was coil #3 and I could safely limp the truck home.
