For just the WP and belt? What did Iron Pig quote you?

Do the front/rear pads and diff fluids yourself. Pretty easy with basic tools and a couple hours.

I had Timing/WP, Trans flush (with world standard) an a couple other minor things done for $1200

I'd probably pay the $965 for the timing belt as that's a little beyond what I'm comfortable with, but I'd tackle the rest of that myself and save the labor costs. Fluids are pretty easy, brakes and repacking the front bearings would be a little time consuming but doesn't seem too hard. Spark plugs arent bad either, the rear ones can be a PITA because they are hard to access, but that's true of most SUVs in my experience.

Thanks for gathering the prices though.

The following in red is what I was quoted by a (non-Toyota employed) Toyota mechanic here in town who is runs a reputable "metric-only" shop.

Incase anyone is curious.

Brakes

Front: New pads, turn rotors and repack bearings- $791.00 including 5hr labor $475.00

Rear: New pads and turn rotors- $249.98 including 2hr labor $210.00 He uses Thema Quiet ceramic pads

90K (and while you are down there stuff)

Timing belt, accessory belt and WP- $964.96 including 6.5hr labor $515.00 for belts only, says rarely if ever does the WP need to be replaced and recommends waiting until 180K but would look at it and if it does need replacement would be another $200.00 Also of note he uses Gates Belts.

"Total Fuel System" (I assume injectors and induction service)- $249.95 including 2hr labor He recommended this be done at the dealership.

Spark plugs- $269.98 including 1.2hr labor $288.00 but says not due till 120K

P/S Flush- $109.98 including 0.5hr labor $72.00

"4X4 Service" (fluid change on the 3 diffs)- $299.95 including 1.5hr labor $150.00

Total- $3438.55

First off what Toyota quoted you is highway robbery compared to the prices here in AZ. The fuel system service is about $180 here in phoenix. What you were quoted for your front brakes is what Toyota quoted me to do my back brakes including replacing both calipers and replacing both rotors on my 80. I wouldn't think a 100 series would cost that just to do new pads and turn the rotors and pack the wheel bearings. You can save your self some money and do the brakes your self as well as the fluids and the spark plugs. As for the TB and WP I would pay Toyota to do them but also remember there are two pulleys in there that you will want to replace. Just my 2 cents...
