Probably a stupid question - can someone please tell me how to remove the female wire connectors from this plug? I have used picks and small screwdrivers from both sides with no success. I’m trying really hard not to break the plastic, but my patience is running out. Am I missing something???? This is the plug for the wiper motor.

Thank you for the replies. That’s what I figured, but damned if I could get those pins out. I’ll go back with a nice cool head.

They can be stubborn SOB's, you are wise to walk away for a spell. Make sure you push the female pin into the plastic connector while you are pressing down on the lock tab. Having a perfectly sized tool helps a bunch. I ground down a small screw driver. I've seen a couple terminal extraction tools offered by Vintage Connections and Wits' End makes a high end tool called the "Prison Shank".

Here's the lock tab

Here's where you insert the removal tool. Make sure you push the wire in while you insert the tool. May need to wiggle the wire back and forth to break up the crud. After the tool is fully inserted to bend the lock tab flat, pull out just a hair, now pull on the wire and push the tool in at the same time

Here's the tool I ground down to a perfect width and thickness

I think my screwdriver needs to be ground down some more. I figured I was on the right track... thanks everyone.

This also works great. An old wiper blade metal support, ground down to proper size.

EDIT: BTW, I copied this from someone here...I believe it was from @Tools R Us (RIP)
