DB knuckles only for swap into 66FJ45LV?

Can I just use later FJ40 parts from a DB axle housing to swap onto the stock 66FJ45LV axle housing to upgrade to disc brakes or do I need to use an entire DB housing etc?

What I mean is: swap on everything except the housing and diffs....

So I'm seeing that the 66 will have the ball and claw instead of birfs.... is the housing the same as the later models such that I can swap later knuckles, birfs etc?

I believe it has been done but the ball & claw housing uses a funky, old school bronze bushing for an axle seal that makes it difficult.

Find a disc axle from a 40/55 and swap it.

Hands down, the easiest way to go.

Yep, a disc axle or at least a post ball and claw axle.

I tried to modify the ball and claw axle, even machining it to accept seals, to make it work and all it did was leak.
