Hi Guys- Coupla questions about the dash panel on this 7/78 40. What is the circled item at the top? Second, what knob would/could have gone in the marked position st the right?

The circled up top is for a light

There's pics in there that show the same blank as you so maybe nothing in that spot

On my '73 the filler plug on the dash is where the switch to my dome light is mounted.

is for your OEM fog switch or OEM AUX switch , say for ditch lights ...........
