I had a mirror dash cam while towing my patriot camper. Was great. Put a camera on the camper license plate frame and ran an extension to the mirror dash cam so you can look at it like a rear view mirror. So I could see behind the trailer.

Can run a front too to record for accidents or speeding tickets.

Ran the third looking down on the camper from the LC200 spoiler.

I used the wolfbox on Amazon.

@grinchy I played around with dash cam main unit placement. Looks like you have the VHB tape stuck to the shaded/doted area (dot matrix / frit) around the mirror? Any issues with that? I was trying to avoid that if possible.

Ideal spots for my camera (Viofo A139) without sticking the tape on the shaded area would be under the mirror so the cables line up with the center of the mirror. It is definitely more visible from in front of the vehicle though. Maybe not a big deal? There is also a sensor on the front of the mirror looking out the windshield I do not want to block. Not sure what that is (auto-dimming maybe?).

Alternates would be on either side of the mirror in front of the driver or passenger but up high by the headliner. Line of sight to the road would not be impacted.

Thoughts?

No issue with the tape on the dots. It hasn't moved since I mounted it. I did clean the area several times before putting it up. The camera isn't heavy . . .
