Yeah, I agree. I think it would definitely be a last resort, looking to buy some time.

You know I think I'll sit on the side lines on this one till it's been tested a bit. I also havent ever had the need as most of the engines I've dealt with have been neglected or abused and not babied.

We had owners who against our instructions, did not load their new engines and came back with high oil consumption problems.
As soon as they were out of sight, we got the tin of Bon Ami and poured it down the intake at max revs.
Smoke cleared in a matter of minutes. Dropped the oil and changed the filter.
Gave it back to one happy owner.
This was done with the manufacturer's approval.
