I’m got some bad bearings in the front and having new hubs, bearings and backing plates put in.

I’m contemplating having the CV done while it’s apart but not sure what parts? Outer assembly? Not leaking or clicking but they are original and at 260k miles. 08LC.

Any advice, part numbers would help.

I replaced my perfectly fine CVs at 215,000 miles when I did the gear upgrade. Had previously replaced the front bearings (new hubs were a far easier way to go about it), and was chasing a rotating noise (which was 100% the rear wheel bearings).
In retrospec, I should not have replaced the CVs. They were perfectly fine. Now they just sit in my garage for spares.
I suggest investing the CV replacement cost into doing the rear wheel bearings. At 260k they are definitely due.

Agreed. Rear axle bearings should be on people’s radar as they get past 150-200k. I had one start to go by 150, and had hell tracking down what all the noise was.

Only concern might be that by beefing up with RCV you move the weak link somewhere else (potentially the diff), which might not be fun
And I did just discover that our and the tundra front diff only have two spider gears.

Not sure what Eaton/ARB have in theirs.

Yeah, I believe @eurosonic installed the RCV in the their own 200 but not sure what else was replaced. No doubt they did a tundra conversion.
