I did a SOA, spring flip and power steering conversion on my crusier and when i did this my tie rod and drag link were too long so i shortened them to fit and work. now iam about to get bigger tires and want new tie rod and drag link to support new larger meats. i remember seeing a site where i could get this but dont remember. anyone know some places that could do this in the sizes i need?

Your tie rod length should not be affected by an SOA or any of the work you mention.

Did you take your knuckle arms off? Did you put them back on the wrong sides?

I think he just want's beefier rods.

4x4 labs

yea but with beefier rods you need beefier TRE's unless you sleeve the old rods.

For as inexpensive as a high steer set up these day I'd just go with that. I got the marlin kit with 80 tre's before everyone started selling them. If i were to do it again I'd buy lukes with GM ends...

In his post he states that his drag link and tierod were too long after he did his SOA, spring reversla and PS conversion. If the tierod is too long, then something is not right. The only thing that will affect tierod length is the distance between the knuckle arm ends. That doesn't change unless you bend something or put them on the wrong sides.

Yeah, I thought about that. But he states that BOTH the drag lnk and the tierod were too long.

Right

I guess the question is what exactly is he wanting to know and what exactly has he done.

I have no idea.

Maybe he did a saginaw conversion. But that wouldn't require a draglink. Or shortening two rods.

Maybe he put a different ps in other than stock which required shotening of the drag link. BUt then you still wouln't have to shorten the relay rod.

Who the heck knows without pics and more info.

BUt I think he only originally wanted to know where to get custom heavy duty rods.

I think?

i had my steering arms bent for the SOA and that kinda shortened everything

Please explain.

Why did you alter your knuckle arms because of the SOA?

If you bent them inward you've changed your ackerman angle. Unless you;ve carefully researched this you've probably introduced a lot of scrub and squirrelly handling.

You might want to consider some of the beefed up hysteer arms along with the beefed up rods and ends.

high steer will change the length, but not by much..i ran for years with my tie rod ends screwed all the way in

power steering will definitely change your drag link though. i tried getting all pro to make me a set since i got my arms from them and they wouldn't make custom lengths, so i found a fellow mudder that could do the work. he's now built rods for my 40, my 60 and my pig.
