Anyone know someone around Chatt town that can build me a set of decent sliders for my '92 80? I dont need the heavy duty Metaltech $800 ones...but something to help protect would be good.

I've been really happy with the Solid Rock Offroad set (2badfjs on mud) that I got for my 60. They're a couple hundred less than the big brands, and are plenty sturdy.

Just got my MT ones welded to the 40 last week :)beer: Roger!) and I've got to say while the 40 sliders are cheaper than the 60/80 sets, there's no way I could've built these for the cost I paid for them. Come out tonight and see them! The fit and finish is simply amazing. With the cost of steel and the waste from trying to bend them and the countless hrs spent trying to reinvent the wheel, for 350 it was money well spent.

Kudos also to Jim Bearden (2badfjs) he does quality work for a fair price. If all you want is some box tube welded to the frame then go ahead, but the wrapped tube in the 60/80s really looks sweet and 800 really is a fair price for what you get. The MT ones even cover the CAT i believe.

Of course, I'm a huge fan and friend of Mark Hawley (MT Owner) so I'm a bit biased :D I have a card around here somewhere for some custom fab guys in N. Chatt/Hixson. I'll see if I can track it down before the meeting. Also check out Hudlow Axle in Rossville.

thanks, i think.
sometimes simple is good enough.
and it's still as strong as everyone elses.

i love MTs stuff BTW

Sliders on FJ 07

I built my own set out of steel tubing. I saw a picture on-line and made a template. They actual turned out better and only cost about $50 with tubing from Lowe's and my neighbor mig welder. I also made a light bar and fitted it to my roof rack.

Be creative and make your own!

That's what I get for typing fast before the STLCA meeting...I fawked that up royally :D

It was s'posed to come across that I love your stuff ie as much as MT, BUT if all Steve wanted was a simple box tube then he should just weld it up himself. I wasn't comparing Solid Rock's stuff to simple box tube sliders...Sorry if it came across that way :shotts::eek:

Also my apologies for misspelling your name!

:cheers::beer:

So what was the verdict on Double Hill? Did you all enjoy your  and food?

Sorry about Ben...(3 humps)...apparently it was the one night a week that he is bartending. Ashley is the normal BT.

Not going to hurt my feelings...so be honest...think its a good location for future meetings?

My burger & onion rings were perfect! My wife couldn't believe the amount of gas I had this morning!

Place was ok but I prefer more of a sports bar type atmosphere like T-boners or Hair of the Dog (more eye candy). Maybe try something on the other side of town next time like Fox&Hound? Sorry Steve, I'm not much of a pool player or karyoke singer unless i'm good and toasty!

Nice to meet you Steve, Mike & Mike(Bro-G)

Agreed, me too...Tuesday night is a slow night there. They normally have a 20 year old Double D (fake) bartender and 2-3 D+ waitresses...

I keep telling my father-in-law that he needs to sports bar up the place more...
More PPV fights, more races, games, etc... but what do I know...Im just a  drinking, sports loving guy...I dont have any valuable input...

BTW...Tuesday is the only karoke night...

Try Wilson Offroad, he is up here in Dayton... his name is Travis Wilson... His recent work can be seen in Low Range Magazine, anyway

423-902-9207.. He does unreal work...

How are his prices? Expensive?

Prices are good, he can do it by the Hour, or Price it by the Job...

Call him, he has guy working for him named Chris that has a Taco, that showcases his work. and he lives in Chattanooga.

Go to the tennesseeoffroad.com board, look for Hotwheels YJ, Cage He just finished it, and it was like 1200 or so.. That included all the steel, and it looks better than a BTF Cage... He could have done a basic for like 500-600 bucks but this guy wanted, Custom...

Nope Travis is up here in Dayton, actually South Dayton, next to 84 Lumber... Cant miss it he always, as Trucks out front Flexed up.

Good Guy... If anyone, is to shy... Give me houler and I will meet ya, and swing by with ya...

also www.WILSONPERFORMANCE.COM

Dont skip intro, all vehicles show, he did all the tube work, to my knowledge.

Am I missing something or is his flash intro just that...a flash intro and then text info to his location?

Are there any links to his site other than the intro?

Would like to see some of those pics in slow motion...
