I wanted to share this custom stealth enclosure install with the group. Design and install were done by Joe Perez in San Antonio. I have to give him all the credit because the results were perfection!

The sealed enclosure is .3 cu. ft. internal volume and made from wood & fiberglass. The project took 2 days to complete.

The speakers are 2 JL Audio 6w3v3-8s. I was able to find the only 2 remaining 8 ohm pair anywhere! The speakers are connected in parallel to achieve a 4 ohm load, which is optimal for most amps.

As you can see, the minimalist design and final install leaves a zero footprint on the factory look!

Joe Perez would be the guy to do it. I told him I was going to post on this forum to give him props for such a great end result.

I paid $300 for the build and $340 for the subs shipped.

He works for a shop that I do not recommend in any way - Custom Sounds off San Pedro. I told him he should break away and do his own custom jobs.

Would you happen to have his contact info, not sure if he would want us calling the store asking for him.

Thx,

That looks awesome. So you're still using the factory amp? I'd also like his contact info.

Those 8 ohm, 6.5" subs are indeed hard to come by. I have a couple of older JL 6w0-8's (8 ohm) if anybody needs. PM me.

I am having the Zapco 5 channel amp and Audio Control LC7i installed on September 18. This will complete the system build for now.

I replaced this setup with a 10TW3 about 2 or so years ago and now they are for sale. $420 shipped TYD. ($220 less than I paid.) In comparison they play very accurate and about 75% the output of the 10". This is a very good option for whoever is ready. The subs are also 8 ohms each which is beyond rare. So they can be run in parallel to achieve a 4 ohm load.

Will this fit in a LX where the Mark Levinson subwoofer is and look exactly like it does in this LC?
