I was reading the broken exhaust mount post as I too have broken all the rubber mounts on my exhaust.
I was thinking of scrapping the factory exhaust as I'm guessing that I'll just break the rubber mounts again.... The muffler sits so darn low.

Anyone have good reccomendations for custom exhaust? I'll be going cat back.

I've seen Scott Simmons 80 and love how his custom exhaust tucked everything up out of the way, but after hearing it roaring in the hog lot for 3 hours, I'm not sure I can live with the extra noise. (I forget what muffler he used)

has anyone found a specific brand/model performance muffler that isn't too much louder than stock?

BTW: my website should be working now ::)

I worked for me just now, but not much content to speak of.

at least its working. if I ever get down to it I have some wheelin' porn on DV cam that I need to edit and run as avi's on my site.

It'll get bigger eventually, I just took a lot of heat from Junk because it was broke... ::)
thought I'd announce its back up...

I had a custom flowmaster setup put on my rig about a few months back..replaced the cat's also. Went from two to one high flow cat.

my point..FLOWMASTER muff = loud.

I am rsearching it too.

What mufflers are you using? (ex. Flowmaster 50)
What cat did you use?
What size pipe, 2.5?

I would like to see/hear some ideas on rerouting the pipe so it does not go under the frame.

Thanks,
Jeff

Pre 95 has the pipe over the frame I beleive. But that is because there is 2 cats side by side with 2 smaller diameter pipes, instead of 1 larger one, that can fit over the frame rail. I would imaginge that if you split the single pipe into two you could then go over the rail as well.

I've got a flowmaster muffler and its kinda loud. Its the 50 series delta flow (supposidly the quietest one) and it did make a performance diffrence, but its a bit louder. I drilled out one of my cats and half the other one. That helped a little bit too. I didnt chance any of the pipe though. But I'm plannin on putting in some b-quiet sound deadner material so that should take care of alot of the road noise.
