Crushed Oil filter (1 Viewer)

I’m in a jam here. The oil filter is crushed. Screwdriver trick didnt work. Channel locks just twist the filter more.

Any advice or tricks would be greatly appreciated.

ETA: it was a 209 filter. The filter wrench pinched the metal and it was all downhill from there. Lubed filter ring upon install. I don’t remember over tightening.

Grab the oil filter very next to the mounting surcafe so it won't crush and then try to turn.

I normally appreciate the Toyota engineers for putting that metal drip guide on the housing, but it in times like these it was a PITA.
