Jim Reiss and I have both been rear-ended in the past week or so (both by women on cell phones, by the way). He in his company Rover, me in the wife's Sienna.

I may be a slow learner, but I finally figured out that I'd rather get rear-ended with my hitch sitting on the Cruiser vs sitting in the garage.

There goes the fuel economy and the nice sleek lines :crybaby: :D

Both me and the wife always keep our hitches on our vehicles, just for that reason.

Yup, keep mine sticking out too. I've been rear ended in a 4Runner that I had my hitch on and it saved a bent bumper and God knows what else. Other guy got a hole poked in the front but he was also happy that he didn't have to pay for damage to my vehicle, just his.

When I walk around and catch my shin on it and get ticked I look back to that incident and I can put up with a bruised shin alot easier. :)
