Cruiser wont idle "sometimes"

I cant figgure WTF this things problem is. 84 2F FJ60. Ok most of the time it runs perfect good idle good exceleration. But some times it wont hold an idle without pulling the choke out a little to bring up the RPMs. It does it cold it does it hot its weird. I have a rebuilt carb I hope to be getting back here real soon and maby that will solve it. Anyone got any sugestions?

Fuel shut off soliniod? Pull the soliniod, put your finger over the hole and run it. Should idle. You can test the soliniod by grounding it and turning the truck to on. The pintle ought to retract.
